Abstract： Objective To investigate the effects of lipo -p rostaglandin E 1 on patients with diabetic foot. Methods 1 20 patients with diabetic foot were divided into control group (40 cases, regula r therapy +papaverin) and treatment group (80 cases,regular therapy +lipo-pros taglandin E 1). The course of treatment was 3 weeks .Before and after treatme nt, the inner diamenter of dorsal pedal artery and blood current velocity o f lower extremity were measured by Doppler. Urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER), low density cholesterol, and triglyceride were determined respectively. Results Total validity rate was higher in treatment group (P<0.01). After 3 weeks treatment, the UAER of both groups were decreased significantly(P<0.05), while UAER of treatment group was significantly more decreased compared with control group.The inner diamenter of dorsal pedal artery and blood current velocity of lower extremity were not improved signific antly in both groups. No severe side-effects were found during the study. Conclusion Treatment with lipo-prostaglandin E 1 may effect ively ameliorate the coolness,numbness and pain in the lower extremities and pro mote healing of foot ulcer in diabetic patients.
