Abstract: Objective To clarify the autonomic nerve d isorder of gastrointestinal tract in diabetic rat with gastrointestinal dysf unction. Methods Diabetic SD rats aged at 12 weeks were rand omly divided into two groups: group A(diabetic), group B(control). Using allox an-prepared diabetic rat model with gastrointestinal dysfunction, the quantity of β 2-adrenergic receptor(β 2-AR) and serotonin receptor(5-HTR) of the g astrointestinal tract were detected by immunohistochemical stain. Resul ts The quantity of 5-HTR in myenteric nerve plexus at gastric antr um and colon were increased (χ2=26.40, P<0.01; χ2=11.01, P<0.01, sepa rately). The quantity of β 2-AR of mucous membrane and myenteron at small int estine and bowel in diabetic rats were all decreased (χ2=11.40, P<0.01; χ 2=7.71, P<0.01; χ2=27.81, P<0.01; χ2=18.71, P<0.05, separately). Conclusions The quantity of β 2-AR and 5-HTR in gastrointest inal tract are changed in rat with diabetic gastrointestinal dysfunction. these changes may be the pathogenesis foundations.
