Abstract: Objective To probe into the relation between hypertension and insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes. Methods Observing parameters as FPG、 FINS、 TC、 TG、 UA、 MAU、 Blood pressure、 and BMI in 123 hypertension and 120 normotension with type 2 diabetes. Homeostasis model assessment (HOMA) and the improved insulin sensitivity index were applied to assess the status of insulin resistance and function of β cell. Results ISI with hypertension was lower than with normotension significantly, FINS, HOMA-IR with hypertension was higher than with normotension significantly (P<0.005). The similar results existed also in normal body weight group (P<0. 05). ISI was negatively correlated significantly with FPG,FINS,BMI in both groups (P<0.05). ISI was negtively correlated with TC,TG,UA in hypertension group (P<0.5). Conclusion Whether obese or of normal body weight, insulin resistance was existed in type 2 diabetes with hypertension. Insulin resistance of obese patients with type 2 diabetes was graver.
