Abstract： Objective To evaluate the effect and ability of intracavernosal self injection of prostaglandin E 1 on erectile dysfunction of diabetic patients.Methods 30 cases of erectile dysfunction with diabetic patients were studied.Results The doses of prostaglandin electing effective erection were 15μg in 2 cases,20μg in 22 cases,25μg in 1 case,30μg in 2 cases,40μg in 1 case.2 cases were effectless for 40μg of prostaglandin E 1. Time of erection were 24～106 min (50 7±19 5min). Side effects from self injection of prostaglandin E 1: local mild pain on injection were in 6 cases, small local bleed in 3 cases, no case causing priajpism, comfortless of erection in 6 cases.Conclusion Intracavernosal self injection of prostaglandin E 1 is a effective therapeutic method.
