Abstract： Objective To evaluate several risk factors of primary angleclosure glaucoma.Methods All 1987 subjects residing in Sangzi village,Ji County were enrolled to undergo an ophthalmologic examination and questionnaire from January to March in 2003.By using questionnaire,some information were obtained to analysis the risk factors.Result In the survey,1701 individuals were enumerated,the response rate was 85.61％.The risk for developing primary angle closure glaucoma was increasing with age(OR=2.186,95％CI:1.409-3.394).family history of glaucoma(OR=6.009,95 ％CI:2.151-17.253),the symptom of ophthalmalgia or distending pain (OR=4.485,95 ％ CI:1.590-12.665),evanescent temporary eye blurring or iridization (OR=5.651,95％CI:2.112-15.119)and cataract (OR=3.318,95％CI:1.290-8.481),but decreasing with degree of education (OR=0.306,95％CI:0.122-0.765).Age(OR=2.146,95％ CI:1.239-3.719)and family history of glaucoma(OR=6.604,95％ CI:2.141-20.374)were independent risk factors for primary angle closure glaucoma.Conclusion During the census of glaucoma,the symptom is important too.Individuals who are old and have history of glaucoma should be received ophthalmologic examinations.
