Abstract: Objective To study the lymphatic capiliaries in the odontoblast layer of pulp. Methods 15 healthy premolars were employed in the experiments whose roots had developed. They were cleaved longitudinally as soon as they were extracted and put into 2. 5% glutaraldehyde soulution for 1 hour at 4C. The pulps were taken out and cut into little pieces and re-immersed in the same soulution for 2 hours. Then they were postfixed, dehydrated and embedded. And semithin sections were made. 5 pulps were chosen to make ultrathin sections and observed by transmission electronmicroscope (TEM). Results In the odontoblast layer, structures which had typical characters of lymphatic capiliaries were found with TEM. Conclusion There are lymphtic capillaries in the odontoblast layer of pulps which are young and healthy. The characters of lymphtic capiliariy are similar to those of other tissues.
