Abstract： Objective To study the dynamic changes of the serum level of sex hormone in elderly male patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) in order to guide clinical treatment.Methods The serum levels of sex hormone in60 patients with COPD of acute exacerbation and stationary phase were measured by Chemiluminescence means.The control group included 50 healthy people.Results The serum level of testosterone in the COPD exacerbation guoup was significantly lower than that of the other two groups(P＜0.01),Meanwhile testosterone levels of stable COPD group is lower than that of the control group(P＜0.05);The serum level of estradiol in the COPD exacerbation guoup was also lower than that of the control group(P＜0.05),But there was no significant difference between the stable COPD group and the other two groups.Conclusion The serum level of testosterone is lower in the patients with COPD of acute exacerbation and stationary phase.The reasonable testosterone treatment can improve the quality of life of male COPD patients and postpone the COPD progress in addition to the routine treatment.
