Expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen ( PCNA ) and prognostic analysis in breast cancer

Abstract： Objective The relationship of protein expression of PCNA and clinnical data in breast cancer was evaluated. Prognostic value of PCNA was assessed. Methods The protein expression of PCNA was detected by SP immunohistochemical method, Multivariatrive cox proportional hazards model analysed prognosis. Results The protein expression of PCNA was statistically different between breast cancer with metastasis of lymph node and breast cancer without metastasis of lymph node. Expression of PCNA was correlated with histe-logical grade. There were PCNA, age, metastasis of lymph node in cox "equation, P < 0. 05. relative risk of PCNA was highest. Conclusions The protein expression of PCNA was correlated with histological grade and metastasis of lymph node. PCNA ,metastasis of lymph node are independent prognostic factors. Prognostic value of PCNA is notable in this study.
