Abstract: Objective To investigate the changes of the serum level of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) in patients with acute cerebral infarction and its relationship to the severity of cerebral infarction. Methods The serum level of hs-CRP in 120 patients and 90 healthy was determined. All the patients were scored by the degree of neurological deficit scale(NDS) ,and compared in groups. Results The serum level of hs-CRP in patient was significantly higher than that in normal controls(P<0.01) and it was significantly higher in the serious groupthan in the middle and mild groups (P<0.05). Conclusion The serum level of hs-CRP is closely correlated with the severity of cerebral infarction.
