Clinical significance of serum IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α in children with bronchiolitis

Abstract： Objective To explore the roles of IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α in infants with bronchiolitis.Methods The levels of serum IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-αt were detected in 50 infants with broncHoliris during convalescence stage and acute stage, and compared with those of 20 healthy children as control group.Results The serum levels of IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α during acute stage were significandy increased in comparison with those during convalescence stage(all P ＜0.05) ,but there was no significant difference between convalescence stage and normal control group(all P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion The cytokines of IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α maybe play an important role in the pathogeny of bronchiolitis.The serum levels of IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α could be used to predict the degree of bronchiolitis in infants.
