Impact of western medical curriculum system in China' s medical education

Abstract: In this paper,Literature,archive material review was adapted to know the impact of westem medical curriculum system in China.One hundred years ago,Flexner report laid the modem medical curriculum,which played an important role in our early medical education system.After the founding of new China,the former Soviet Union model laid the foundation of our current medical education,but some of the drawbacks of the model were gradually revealed.During the same period,European and American medical curriculum went through three stages,discipline-based,organ-system-based and problembased curriculum.These medical curriculums played catalytic and facilitating roles in China.Conclusion:Nowadays,medical education system becomes more diversified,but there are some common characteristics.These characteristics give inspiration in China' s medical curriculum reform.
