Abstract: Objective To estimate the effect of inquiring teaching of applying the foreign students in English medium program for obstetrical standardized patient (SP).Methods Department of obstetrics of the third affiliated hospital of SUN Yat-sen University applied the foreign students in English medium program to standardized patient (SP) in ease history inquiring teaching.The effects of teaching were investigated by two phases-questionnaires.At the same time,the scores between two phases tests were compared.Results Students generally thought that standardized patient inquiring teaching could enhance the comprehension of obstetrical knowledge and increase the confidence and ability of communication with true patients.The scores of the second phase test were increased obviously ( P<0.05 ).Conclusions The well-designed standardized patient inquiring teaching in obstetrics has an active role in the training of case history collecting ability to foreign students in English medium program.
