Abstract： Acne vulgaris,one of the most common skin diseases,is a multifactorial and chronic inflammatory disorder of pilosebaceous follicles with severe impact on the quality of life of patients.The incidence of acne vulgaris has been increasing yearly.The application of conventional local and systemic treatments for ance vulgaris is limited by their potential toxic and side effects as well as increasing resistance of bacteria to antibiotics.Recently,photodynamic therapy has been widely applied to the treatment of acne,and proved to be an effective treatment choice.In particular,the efficacy of photodynamic therapy appears superior to that of single phototherapy.The light sources of photodynamic therapy mainly include diode lasers,intense pulsed light,blue light and red light.There is considerable evidence that photodynamic therapy is safe and effective for the treatment of ance vulgaris with less side effects.
