Abstract： Nerve growth factor is a kind of neuropeptide which plays a role of nutrition in neurons growth and differentiation,and a family of neurotrophic factor.It is secreted by neurons,inflammatory cells and airway epithelial cells and plays a critical role in airway inflammatory and remodeling.Research showed that nerve growth factor exerts its role in asthmatic occurrence and development through immune imbalance,secreting neuropeptide,starting the redundancy of adrenal medulla cells and airway remodeling.Further investigation is needed to figure out its role in asthma,which may be helpful to build new strategies to prevent asthma.
