Abstract: Objective To analyze the common nursing risk factors in department of orthopedics,and take corresponding measures to reduce the occurrence of nursing risk.Methods A total of 500 patients in the department of orthopedics of our hospital were selected from 2011 January to 2012 January and randomly divided into observation group and control group.Control group adopted routine nursing,and corresponding nursing measures were taken on the basis of analyzing risk factors in observation group.Occurrence rate of risk events and patients'satisfaction with care were compared between two groups. Results In the control group fall rate was 27.6%,falling out of bed rate was 29.6%,more than 1/5 of the total patients,and pressure ulcer rates was 35.6%,while in observation group three kinds of risk event occurrence rates were below 5%.The difference was significant (P <0.05 ).The diffrence of patients'satisfaction of two groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05 ).Conclusions There are many nursing risks in the department of orthopedics,while in the ward the implementation of risk management can effectively reduce the risk,improve the quality of nursing care.
