Abstract: Objective To study the effect of retrograde paracentesis of hand and foot dorsal vein on chemotherapy patients. Methods A total of 120 tumor patients under vein chemotherapy were divided into two groups at random. The control group was given antegrade paracentesis, while the observation group was given retrograde paracentesis. The differences of the achievement ratio, the influence on blood vessel and the pain in patients of these two groups were compared. Results The patients in observation group had higher achievement ratio in paracentesis operation and transfusion became easier too ( P < 0.05 ) . Moreover, patients in observation group had a lower incidence rate of being infecting with phlebitis and they had obviously mild pain in paracentesis operation (P < 0. 05) . Conclusions Retrograde vein paracentesis have the advantages of elevating the achievement ratio, decreasing the incidence rate of being infecting with phlebitis and reducing the pain in paracentesis operation, which could relieve pain for tumor patients to some extent[ Key words] Chemotherapy patients;Retrograde vein paracentesis
