Abstract: Objective To study the effects and meaning of systemic psychological nursing on the aged patients with depression. Methods The old stage was taken bad for the first time which 58 examples ( > 60 years old) the single polar depression patient turned over a new leaf in hospital to start to carry on the psychological nursing intervention as the intervention group, the control group was stochastically extracted already above the hospital treatment six month single polar depression patient 58 examples ( > 60 years old) . The control group was given general routine nursing. Based on that, the patients of the observation group were given psychological nursing intervention,including series health education, mental encouragements and psychological comfort from doctors and nurses by training. The spread of main depression symptoms were reported at hospitalized time and after six months of intervention, and were compared between the two groups. Results Between the observation group and the control group, there were significant differences on less speech, interest decrease,sleep disorder, activity decline and paranoid ( P < 0. 05) . Depression, anxiety, suiside idea, suiside behavior and hypochondriasis showed very significant differences (P < 0. 01 ) . Conclusions The psychological nursing intervention from doctors and nurses have obvious effects in recovery for the aged patients with depression.
