Abstract: Objective To study the analgesia effects and stress reaction of music intenrention assisting cervical plexus block for subtotal thyroidectomy. Methods Forty patients(ASA grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ)scheduled for seleetive subtotal thyroidectomy were randomly assigned into study group and control group, and each group contained 20 atients.Patients in study group were asked to listen to some kind of music 2 to 3 times at the night before operation.During listening to the music, they were also asked to keep relang and imaging whatever they wouldllke.Patientsin control groupdidntlistentoanymusic before operation. On the operationday, all patients had no any premedication, and were administered with droperidol(2.5 mg)and fentanyl(first dose is 0.05 mg,and the doses were added whenever needed)after cervical plexus block.Meanwhile, patients in study group listened to the music which had been listened previously during the operation, and patients in control group were only administered with naroctics.Study indexes contained paln extent rank during operation,MAP,HR,SpO2,respiration frequency, adverse complication, and total dose offentanyl in each group.Pefiopemfive blood concentratlon of anglotensin Ⅱ,cortisol, free T3 and blood sugar was also determined. Results Pain extent rank in study group Was obviously better than that ofcontrol group(P<0.05),and total dose offentanyl in study group was sisnificanfly less than that of control group(P<0.05),and hemodynamics fluctuation(MAP and HR)in study group was less than that of control group(P<0.05).Except for free T3,the blood concentration of angiotensin Ⅱ,cortisol, and blood sugar in the beginning, middle, and end of operation was significantly increased compared with that of before operation(P<0.05),however,cortisol level of study group in the middle of operation was significantly less than that of control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Music intervention assisting cerdeal plexus block for subtotal thyroideetomy would be a simple, safe, and reliable method which can buildup analgesia effects, stabilize hemodynamics, and suppress stress reaction.
