Abstract: AIM:To investigate the variation of the serum concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and their clinical significance in early normal and abnormal prgnancy.METHODS:The 106 women of abnormal pregnancy at about 6 weeks were selected randomly, who subsequently were confirmed ruptured tubal pregnancy(n=34),tubal abortion(n=21),spontaneous abortion(n=30),arrested intrauterine pregnancy(n=21),the normal intrauterine pregnancy women(n=20)were selected at the same period. The concentrations of serum VEGF were measured by enxyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)methods.RESULTS:①The median VEGF concentrations in ruptured tubal pregnancy were significantly higher than that in tubal abortion and other groups(P<0.01).②The median VEGF concentrations in ruptured tubal pregnancy and tubal abortion had no correlation with the type of variation of serum β-HCG (P>0.05).③The median VEGF concentrations in ruptured tubal pregnancy and tubal abortion had statistical correlation with the character of vaginal uhrasonography(P<0.05,P<0.01).CONCLUSION:The possibility of rupture in women of tubal pregnancy increased when the concentrations of serum VEGF step up.
