Abstract: AIM:To initially investigate the association of elevated insulin stimulated glucose uptake in cardiomycytes during calcium overload.METHODS:111e calcium overload model in cardiomyoctyes was developed by using ionomycin. The glucose uptake of cardiomyoctyes stimulated by insulin was detected with isotopic tracer technique.RESULTS:After calcium overload, cardiomyocyte viability did not decrease significantly(P>0.05,vs control).Cytosolic calcium of cardiomyocytes(ionomycin 1.0 μmol/L)was higher than that of control cardiomyocytes[(376±29)vs(115±21)nmol/L,P<0.05].Insulin stimulated glucose transport into cardiomyocytes.Glucose uptake in 20 U/L insulin group are higher than that in 0.01 U/L insulin group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Cardiomyocytes during calcium overload hold responsiveness to insulin, but at the same time, with different concentrations insulin, cardiomyocytes glucose uptake gradually increased during calcium overload.
