Abstract: AIM:To study the differences in histology of the tissue-engineered skin and normal human skin.METHODS:The bilayer skin replacement waft constructed by tissue engineering method,compared with the normal human skin by histological and immunohistochemistry methods.RESULTS:There were some differences in tissue-engineered skin and the normal skin.Epidermis rete pegs were presented only in the normal skin,CK19 was negative in the matured tissue engineered-skin,but both CK10 and pan-CK were positively expressed in tissue-engineered skin and the normal skin.Epithelium structure by TEM wag similar to the normal skin.CONCLUSION:The dermo-epidermal junction in tissue-engineered skin was less tighter than normal skin,may be due to the absence of epidermis rete pegs,epidermal cells had difierentiated.
