Abstract: AIM To compare the differences of contents of trace elements in cerebrolysin biological preparations. METHODS The contents of Mg, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn and Cr in eight kinds of cerebrolysin biological preparations were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry. RESULTS The contents of trace elements in seven kinds of cerebrolysin biological preparations made at home were compared with those made by Austria. The statistical results were as follows: in comparison with the control group the contents of Mg in all those cerebrolysin biological preparations had significant difference (P<0.01); The contents of Mn in five cerebrolysin biological preparations had significant difference (P<0.01), while one had a little difference (P<0.05); the contents of Fe in four biological preparations had significant difference (P<0.01), while two had a little difference (P<0.05); the contents of Co in six biological preparations had significant difference (P<0.01); the contents of Ni in five biological preparations had significant difference (P<0.01); the contents of Cu in three biological preparations had significant difference (P<0.01) while one had a little difference (P<0.05); the contents of Zn in seven kinds of biological preparations had significant difference (P<0.01); the contents of Cr in three biological preparations had a little difference (P<0.05). The rest had no significant difference (P>0.05). CONCLUSION Useful data of cerebrolysin for administration in clinical practice are provided.
