Abstract: AIM To compare the differences of military trainin g i njury (MTI) between the periods of basic training and special training of navy a nd air force in recruits in order to make preventive measures. METHODS Two thousand-sixteen men-time were investigated by epide miological methods. RESULTS The incidence of MTI during basic t raining was signi ficantly higher than the period of special training in both of navy and air forc e ( 28.2% vs 18.7% in navy and 25.1% vs 16.3% in air force, P<0.01 ). Of all the inju red sites in air force recruits, the proportions of ankle and lumbu in special t raining period were significantly higher than basic training (26.9% vs 1 2.9% of ankle and 23.9% vs 5.6% of lumbu, P<0.01). Of all the injured sites in n avy recr uits, the proportions of lower limb in special training period were significantl y higher than basic training (42.9% vs 12.0%, P<0.01). CONCLUSION Different train ing courses between the periods of basic training and special training could mak e the incidence of MTI, injured sites and injured types varied.
