Abstract： Objective To analysis the epidemic feature of hand-foot-mouth disease in Rongxian from 2008-2011 so as to provide scientific evidence for HFMD control in rural country. Methods Descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted on the epidemiology of HFMD in recent 4 years,use SPSS13.0 for windows to analysis. Result In recent four years 700 cases were reported in Rongxian and the average annual incidence was 25.17/ 100 thousand. There were obvious seasonality between April to May and November to December in the onset of HFMD. The mainly incidence was concentrated under five years old children、96.29%;416 scattered children cases account for 59.43% ,256kindergarten children cases account for 36.57%;the top three incidence and number were in the combination of urban and rural vilages and towns; In occupational distribution, the number of scattered children and pupils occupied a large proportion of cases,x2=30.116,p<0.05、x2=467.047,p<0.05,There was significant difference in the incidence among different genders and age groups.The incidence of male is higher than female. Conclusion The incidence in Rongxian point out HFMD prevention and control work should focus on kindergarten children and scattered children, workplace should focus on the combination of urban and rural vilages and towns, health education and comprehensive prevention and control measures are necessary.
