The Chinese Journal of Psychiatry was first published in 1955 as the Chinese Journal of Neurology and Psychiatry and was renamed in 1996.It is aimed at psychiatric professionals who are engaged in clinical and basic research on the treatment and prevention of mental disorders. The editorial board includes 50 Chinese psychiatrists. The journal publishes comments and instruments that are of instructional significance, as well as reports and papers that show advanced research achievements and clinical experience in psychiatry. All publications reflect the great advances in clinical and experimental psychiatry in China, and promote international academic communication. The journal includes Editorial Comments, Articles, Reviews, Academic Discussion, Abstracts of Articles, Case Reports, Lectures, New Development Experience and Lessons, Academic Communication, International Academic Advances, and New Drugs, etc. A CD-ROM version of the journal is available. The journal was awarded the 2nd place prize for the National Appraisal of Science Journals sponsored by the China Association for Science and Technology, and the silver prize of the Chinese Medical Association.
