Chinese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology , a journal authorized by China Association for Science and Technology and sponsored by Chinese Medical Association was established in April 1953, served monthly with 80 pages an issue. The journal is one of the professional periodicals standing for the most advanced level in obstetrics and gynecology circle in China, in which it is constantly playing an important role in promoting the academic exchange and development. The main job of the journal is to report the advanced research results and clinical experiences obtained in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. The journal now contains the columns mainly of Editorials, Original Articles, Lectures, Proceedings, Technical Interchanges, Reviews, Case Reports, Clinical Consultations and Academic Activities at home and abroad. The journal had concentrated and drawn a great group of the first rank specialists for its peer reviewing of the paper as to facilitating the progress of the Journal. Since 1980s, the journal has been transcribed and collected by the American Medical Index (MEDLINE), as well as some other foreign important databases, such as CANCERLIT (USA), TOXCENTER and TOXFILF; besides, by Chinese Periodicals Network, Chinese Academic Periodicals, comprehensive databases for evaluation of Chinese academic periodicals, and databases of Chinese biomedical abstracts, Chinese academic citations and Chinese biomedical periodicals (in Chinese). Since 1992, the journal has won second-rank prizes from the Chinese Scientific and Technological Committee and the China Association for Science and Technology. The staff of the journal would be consistently doing our best, as to following the fine traditions, improving the journal and winning more achievements so as to devote our service to our readers and writers. The journal will manage to increase new columns, shorten a time delay for papers’ press out; and additionally, set up an “express way” for papers’ publication. The journal has a distribution of 25 000 copies for each issue and in which, there may be averagely 16 pages used for advertisements.
