Chinese Critical Care Medicine supervised by the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China, and sponsored by Chinese Medical Association and Tianjin Tianhe Hospital, which started its publication in November 1989. It is an authoritative academic journal in the area of critical care medicine and one of the Chinese core journals and China core journals of science and technology. The journal keeps working out plans for electing titles that academically take the lead, standing at the professional frontier level in soliciting contributions, and closely watching the new trend of the current development of science and technology. Priority is given to the contributions that track and represent the world most advanced level to ensure that the academic contents of the articles published reflect the highest level in China. The journal is oriented towards the readers engaged in laboratory and clinical investigations and medical education in critical care medicine of different specialties at different levels. Its content involves the basic laboratory investigations on the pathogenesis, the clinical investigations on the treatments, and the experience of treatments of single or multiple organ system injury or failure in non-operative or operative acute critical conditions induced by multidisciplinary diseases. The main columns include Editorial Review, Experts Forum, Standard and Guideline, Original Papers, Research Reports, Experience Exchanges, Case Reports, Methods Introduction, Reviews, Lectures, Theory Exploration, Field at Basic Level, Clinical Pathology (Cases) Discussion, CCCM Forum, Update of World Scientific Research, and Readers-Authors-Editors, etc. The academic index of the journal is rising year by year. According to “Chinese S & T Journal Citation Reports”, recently published by China Science and Technology Information Research Institute, Ministry of Science and Technology, the impact factor of the journal of ranks 2nd in the category of basic medicine and comprehensive medicine (located in the first three places in the past five successive years). The journal is included in five world famous large retrieval system including NLM “MEDLINE” (US), Chemical Abstracts (CA, US), Excerpta Medical (EM, Holland), Abstract Journal (AJ, Russia), Western Pacific Region Index Medicus (WPRIM, WHO), and in all retrieval systems in China, such as Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), A Guide to the Core Journals of China, Certificate of Source Journal for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations, Chinese Medical Citation Index (CMCI), Chinese Medical Current Contents (CMCC), and em120.com critical care online, etc.
