Chinese Journal of Practical Medicine (originally called Central Plains Medlical Journal ) was founded in January, 1974, became semimontly in 2001. In January 2006, it became one of the serial journals sponsored by Chinese Medical Association, which was in charged by Health Ministry of the People’s Republic of China. The same year, it earned well evaluation in the unified review of series magazine of Chinese Medical Association. To better serve the nation’s medical workers, approval from the General Administration of Press and Publication of the People’s Republic of China, from the ninth issue in May 2008, it was formally renamed Chinese Journal of Practical Medicine , which solved the title problem of geographical limitations. The aim of Chinese Journal of Practical Medicine is to propagandize and carry out the Party's health principles and policies, face clinic, highlighting practical and promote academic exchanges, and raise medical level of the clinical medical workers. The scope of business includes editing and publishing the medical journal, finding, recommendating and training outstanding talents of medical science, advancing the exchange of medical science and technology information, and promoting applying the scientific research of medicine to practice, and reflecting and addressing the views and demands of the medical science and technology workers in time，and so on. We insist on international orientation, and facing clinic, focusing on reporting the headway in internal medicine, surgery, gynaecology and pediatrics, and new theories, new results, new methods and experience, and so on. The kind of columns are diverse, such as Treatises, Clinical Practice， Exchange of Experience, Clinical Studies, Druggery and Clinic, Reviewed, the Analysis of Misdiagnosis, Clinical Reports, Reader ?Author ? Editor and so on. So far, from facing the uncertificated country doctor, the journal now has grown into targeting at the large number of doctors throughout the country. We gave priority of publiation to the paper of Chinese National Natural Science, Science and Technology Development and Funds, expanded the proportion of thesis of postgraduate and doctors, which further improves the quality and popularity of the magazine. It is now included in the China journal full-text database, China academic periodical comprehensive evaluation database, China core periodical (selection) database, and Wanfang data-digitization periodical group.
