The Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery , a bimonthly journal, started its publication in 1985 as the Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery and Burns . In the year 2000, the journal got its current name. This professional journal is intended for clinical doctors who work on plastic surgery, burn surgery, microsurgery, orthopedics, stomatology, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, urology, and dermatology. The journal consists of Original Articles, Commentary, Review, Experience Introduction, and Case Reports, etc. There are also specialized sections for flap research, late-burn therapy, cosmetic surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, cleft palate, and craniofacial surgery, etc. Since 1988, the Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery has been indexed by the following resources and databases: American Index Medicus, China Scientific Article and Reference Database, Chinese Scientific and Technical Data Catalogue (Medicine and Health), CB Medisc, and the full-text retrieval system of China Academic Periodical (CD version). It has been recognized as a core surgery journal by the Chinese Core Periodical Catalogue 2004.
