Established in September 1978, Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine is a leading journal covering all aspects of pathology and laboratory medicine. It is an official journal of Chinese Medical Association and supervised by China Association for Science and Technology. Due to the high reputation and impact of this journal, it ranks No.1 in term of readership and circulation in Chinese Medical Association Publishing Series. It has been indexed in Chemical Abstract, Abstract Journal(AJ), TOXCENTER, Chinese Journal Fulltext Database(CJFD), Chinese Biology Medicine(CBM), WANFANG Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), et al. In the year of 2006, it achieved an impact factor of 1.146, the number of citations is 2120, and it ranked No.2 in clinical medicine related journals. The journal was awarded “outstanding periodical with social benefit economic benefit” by General Administration of Press and Publication of the Peoples’ Republic of China, and the journal has got the award of “top hundred outstanding periodicals” for six consecutive years. The main reader population of the journal includes senior medical technologists, research stuffs and clinical doctors. The goal of the journal is to promote the exchange of ideas and concepts across the entire laboratory medicine community, cultivating new areas of basic research and clinical investigation. Nine columns were included in this journal: Commentaries, Original Articles, Guidance Articles, Theoretical Issues, Discussion Article, Reviews, Science Popularization Articles, Propaganda Articles, and News. Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine will consider papers for publication in the following aspect: editorial, special forum, monography, clinical diagnostic research, laboratory diagnostic research, reagents and instruments, quality control, laboratory management, laboratory medicine education, question and answer, key discipline introduction, case report, reader’ letter, et al.
