The Chinese Journal of Digestion was established in 1981 as a quarterly, with the known gastroenterologist Jiang Shao-ji, an academician of Chinese Engineering Council, being the first editor-in-chief of the Journal. Since 2001 it has been produced monthly. The Chinese Journal of Digestion is intended for gastroenterologists and so on.It releases achievements in clinical experiences as well as basic research related with digestive diseases. Therefore, it serves as a guideline for clinical doctors engaged in gastroenterology. In order to publish high-quality papers, the Chinese Journal of Digestion has set up a nationwide editorial board that consists of well-known authorities in the field of gastroenterology in China. One quarter of the studies published by the journal are supported by provincial or national foundations. The articles fully reflect the latest advances in gastroenterology in China. The impact factor and citation frequency of the journal is at the forefront among China’s medical journals. Since its establishment, the journal had been awarded the 1st place prize by the Shanghai Science Association, the silver prize on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese Medical Association, and the 3rd place prize for the Excellent Periodical Award by the Shanghai Science Association. The Chinese Journal of Digestion includes the following columms: Peer-reviewed Original Papers, Short Communications, International Academic Exchanges, Monographs, Experts Forum, Consensus and Guidelines, Reviews, Clinical Case Discussions, and Case Reports.
